Sabesp is currently the largest sanitation company in Brazil and one of the largest in the world.
We provide water supply, sewage collection, and treatment services to 375 municipalities across the state of São Paulo, serving 28.1 million people with clean water and 24.9 million with sewage services—representing approximately 63% of the state’s urban population.
Our journey began in 1973 with the merger of public companies and state-controlled entities focused on basic sanitation. Initially, Sabesp incorporated companies operating in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region, Baixada Santista, and Vale do Ribeira.
In 2023, we reached a significant milestone: Sabesp won the competitive bidding process to manage sanitation services in the municipality of Olímpia—marking the Company’s first concession awarded through a competitive process.
In 2024, Sabesp completed its privatization process, accelerating the goal of universal sanitation coverage in its service areas to 2029.
With over 50 years of dedication and service, Sabesp is responsible for approximately 30% of all sanitation investments made in Brazil. Between 2024 and 2029, we plan to invest around R$70 billion, focusing on expanding water availability and ensuring water security.
Sabesp also holds minority stakes in three other companies providing water supply and sewage services, as well as six additional companies operating in energy, paving, and other sanitation-related sectors.
Our work plays a vital role in society and is crucial to environmental regeneration. We recognize our responsibility and strive to be a benchmark in governance, transparency, and integrity—both for the market and for society at large.
We continue to evolve and embrace challenges to help build a better world for future generations.
Sabesp’s common shares are traded on the Novo Mercado segment of B3 (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão) under the ticker SBSP3, and on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as Level III American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) under the ticker SBS.
